Aaah. The Witcher. A game so well made it leaves the Netflix series unwatchable, and its Blood & Wine DLC so large it is a full game in its own right.

Though it might seem so from my own scribblings, and promoting several different games here that I’m an avid gamer, the truth is that I’m not really one. Yes, I prefer playing instead of wasting time in front of a TV, but my real life and hobbies take so much time from me that playing is something that comes in as number….. something very far down on the list.

That being said, I was there when Commodore 64s and Amigas ruled the world. I played Wing Commander, Microprose FlightSim, Doom, Great Gianna Sisters, PacMan, Rollercoaster Tycoon and everything in between up to the Elder Scrolls titles.

And still, even after playing through every game in the mentioned Elder Scrolls game, none of them has captured me the way the Witcher 3 has. Its story, insanely detailed and beautiful world, its detailed and complex characters, and its music (!) is far, far above anything else I’ve played (even admitting that Skyrim also has a special place in my heart).

So if you have not tried it, it is normally dirt-cheap during the Steam sales, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
