Into the Breach is one of my all-time favorite strategy games. It is an excellent option for when you only have a few minutes to spare.
Its premise is simple: You have a board on which you and your enemies’ pieces are placed. You know both your own AND your enemy’s abilities, coming moves, strengths, and weaknesses and thus have full situational awareness of everything that’s going to happen.
And still, it can be a frustratingly challenging game. But also enormously fun and satisfying. I highly recommend it and it deserves its ‘Ultimate game of the year 2018‘ award.
